3DOM has agreed with Yamada Denki Co., Ltd. (“Yamada Denki”) to form a business alliance for such businesses including the domestic leasing of electric vehicles and establishing of a joint venture company, Social Mobility Inc. (“SMI”), which will be headquartered in Tokyo. SMI is expected to be established on December 25, 2018, with a 50:50 investment ratio between Yamada Denki and 3DOM.
Both Yamada Denki and 3DOM have agreed that Takeshi Nagano, Managing Director of Sharaku Partners Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Yoshiaki Kita), who has offered advisory services from the assessment stage of establishing this joint venture to its imminent establishment, will assume the position of the Representative of the joint venture.
With advanced battery technology at its core, 3DOM strives to resolve energy issues and build sustainable societies by researching, developing, and designing next-generation batteries, and by deploying on a global scale business models that utilize such technologies. 3DOM has already established a subsidiary in the U.S. with the objective of deploying businesses of electrifying marine vessels in North America. By establishing a joint venture with Yamada Denki, 3DOM strives to expand into the automotive segment.
